I Thought You Were The Best
28 June, 2004
Author: Terrie*
what more can I say
my feelings you hurt so bad
you gave me something special then took it all away
you left my heart feeling so sad
I pretend I do not care
for the little that we shared
I know you felt it too
I meant something to you
I was, but a phone call away
to listen to what you had to say
if only you extended your hand
you knew I'd understand
we come to a crossroad of change
feeling so awkward and strange
what happened to the trust
was it all based on friendship or lust?
you bruised my heart
you bruised my soul
you tore my life apart
just to make yours whole
you made me happy for the moment
now you put me thru such torment
I thought you were ultimately the best
I honestly thought you were different from the rest
