A Young Man's Concern
28 June, 2004
Author: Binh T Ngo
I strained to see if I love the Lord.
My understanding tells me I do,
But my weaknesses ask if it’s true.
My soul knows I love Him so,
But still, Reality I wanted to know.
So I asked myself if I love the Lord.
Yes, I love Him and need Him much!
Yet, a voice inside questioned, “as such?”
How I love Him and hate what I do;
How I love Him and live this life too?
So I asked how much I love the Lord.
“To the end will be my love!” This, I know.
Yet, that often delay to the tomorrows.
I love Him, and will love Him more;
However, let me first finish my chores.
And again, I questioned how I love the Lord.
Yes—even with steps I haven’t been through,
Even with this broken heart, I still do!
He in times waited patiently for me.
His trials before my path—let them be.
Then at last I asked how I love MY Lord.
I’m sure His love’s always there for me,
Even when mine, by nature, is hard to see.
Hence, life I’ll live too, like all man—
To the fullest; and Him, I’ll love best I can!
