Trying To Let Go
29 June, 2004
Author: Brett
A picture of your face stays in mind,
It's the only memory of you I can't leave behind..
What you did was impossible to bear,
But it seems time for me to face my fears..
I can't let what you did keep me from saying my thoughts,
Remembering the other side, the happiness you brought..
But for too long I tried to avoid the inevitable,
Our friendship broken that was once inseperable..
Yet why are you still with me everywhere I go?
Your face, your smile, it just makes my emotions show..
I cry sometimes because I miss you so much,
My tears are symbols of how I miss just your touch..
But if I allowed you back into my life,
New tears would form, it simply wouldn't be right..
Despite it feels that part of my heart and soul are gone,
I know somehow that the rest of me will live on..
------- Author's Notes -------
This is a poem about one of my closest friends. I still love her to death, but I don't think we can be friends. |
