The hour of my liberation is nigh.
Soon the axe will fall and I will be free.
Nero has demanded my head on a pole,
Rome has labeled me her enemy.
But I am relieved, it is finally done,
I have served my savior for many years.
I’ve grown weary from the weight of that service,
But regret none of the scars or the tears.
I thank Him for choosing me those years ago,
On the road to Damascus, He took my sight.
And when He returned it, my eyes were opened.
For the first time in my life, I saw the light.
I have traveled many a road since that day,
My burden growing heavier each year.
But it was a path I was honored to walk.
Though I knew it would, one day, lead me here.
I shall gladly give up this life for my Lord,
For His sacrifice freed us all from sin.
I now go to the reward prepared for me,
To that place where my life will truly begin.
