Way Back When
5 July, 2004
Author: Clive B Ringshall
That cold night one September morning,
I remember catching you’re eye as you looked on,
You saw me shivering and cold,
I could see in you’re eye as you asked why?
I offered you a hand with all you’re bags,
In for coffee you offered,
Thank you madam I replied,
Coffee lead to stories that you listened,
Laughter I heard it’s been a while,
Take a shower I’ve some old clothes that just may fit,
Odd jobs I completed to help out,
Stayed that night and more that followed,
Friends we became,
I soon was working and on my feet,
All because of you my friend,
A tray was made with flowers from heaven,
Tea for two with toast,
You see that was now 10 years ago,
Today we’re wed and still friends we are,
But much more than that,
Lover’s every day and night.
