I Couldn't Leave Her All Alone
11 June, 2001
Author: Black Angel
i slid the knife across my wrist the blood wells up crimson red,
the pain reminds me i'm still here even though inside i'm dead.
i breath in deep and let out a sigh of relief,
i've saved myself from some of the grief.
standing on this empty bridge with no one else to see,
if i take just one more step then that's the end of me.
i know that many won't miss me but what about my friend,
she said she'd always be there for me and will until the end.
i couldn't die right now and leave her all alone,
i wouldn't be able to see her or talk to her on the phone.
she couldn't cry on my shoulder when times got really bad,
i wouldn't be there to encourage her to fulfill all the dreams she had.
my love for my friend and that alone made me step back from the edge,
her friendship was like a safety rope pulling back from that deathly ledge.
thank you so much for saving me i'm forever in your debt,
you saved me from myself and that i will never forget.
