The rain is gently falling
I sit here pen and pad
Listening to the gentle beat
Remembering all the things we had
I write of all our happiness
Of all the time we had to hold
Of our perfect days together
How together we would grow old
I write of all our sadness
The pain of falling dreams
The curse of parted love divine
A star without its gleams
I write of an undying love
A love so pure of heart
That no matter the distance we may be
We never are truly apart
For in this heart that slowly beats
Is the memory of our days
I wait the time when we unite
In heaven’s perfect rays
