Disrespect Is My Middle Name

She assured me with a fake smile
I was knee deep in denial
Insincere words make perfect sense
My ignorance was sealed with a kiss

Kill my pride with lie after lie
I'm running out of reasons to ask why
Don't forget to take my dignity when you leave
Your just making it harder for me to breathe

Disrespect is an understatement
When my heart is thrown to the pavement
Was there ever any doubt
That the truth would eventually slip out?

Her simplicity got the best of me
"I guess it wasn't meant to be"
She assured me everything was going well
I assured her she was going to hell
