I can still remember the nights
we walked around the country block
the nights we dipped
into the ditch on a late hot sultry summer night
our moonlight dances out in the back yard
when the kids were away
our many moments up against the house
with the moon and the stars gazing down on us
as if they were smiling for the happiness that we share
the many hours of laughter and tears that showed we cared
the late night grocery runs to avoid the crowd
the waltzing down the isle as we shopped
a run to the adult store for our pleasure
I used to get so embarresd
but you know what ?
I miss it all
all that is left are the sweet memories
the memories that keep me in a standstill
you were all that I loved, all that I had
all that I ever wanted,you were my everything
now all that is left are the memories of you and I
memories that live in my heart..
memories that won't ever depart
I know it is time to move on and make new memories but..
you know me I need to know it all before I can give in
I want to make sure he is the one..
I cannot stand a lie..
and I cannot stand things being held back
trust is what you and I had ..
trust is what got us through
my heart you took care of..
I took over and made a mess out of it..
so now I need a man
that will take over where you left off
if it were possible
I know you'd come back home to me...
to pick up where we left off..
darlin' I am still so in love with you..
how can I not..
you gave it all to me..
and never kept anything back..
if you have someone true in mind..
please do not let me pass him by..
please let him be a lot like you...
he must love our kids as well as i do..
I have faith in God and you
and I know that the man that I will hold
will be the one God and you selected and was truly meant for me
and his love will help me through....
