Once Asked Of Regret
20 July, 2004
Author: Silent Voice
Once asked of regret
and I made this reply;
To have never held you
and let you just walk by;
To have only whispered those words
only to let them reach the sky;
To have picked the flowers for you
and just cast them by;
To know you love another
makes me want to die;
To stop the pain of loneliness
I find myself living a lie;
Once asked of regret
and I made this reply.

Tarna (4.226.171.1) -- Monday, July 26 2004, 11:11 am I love the way this poem shows the understanding of a loss of love. Reminds me of the old adage "better the have loved and lost than to have never loved at all" But so unique in the delicate feelings of the acknowledgement of the fact.... The flow of the writing was also like a poem within itself dancing in my heart.. Fantasic poem |
