Ride On, Cowboy
23 July, 2004
Author: Ben Laney
She stood by you
through everything
But love needs more
than just a ring
She was your friend
and your lover
Look back again
won't you, brother
Ride on, Cowboy
Ride on in the rain
Maybe down in Texas
You can put the peices
back..together again
Dreams in the dirt
feeling the fear
Knowing that hurt
tasting the tears
There your life goes
and what can you do
But ride down the road
drift out of view
Ride on, Cowboy
Ride on in the rain
Maybe down in Texas
You can put the peices
back..together again
------- Author's Notes -------
Look...There on the horizon, where the blazing sunset is turning the clouds red, gold, and purple. The rain is falling on a lone rider in the distance. Is he Texas bound? |

Ben Laney (65.148.231.226) -- Friday, July 23 2004, 06:14 pm Terrie*, Thank you for your kind words concerning my writing, I am glad to know you like them. And, as for Cowboys, I once heard an old timer say, Cowboys never die.....they just SMELL that way. Maybe that's just the Cowboys at the tail-end of the herd, but YES, Cowboys are real. Haaa Haaaa! Thanks again! Warm Regards, -Ben |
