Takin' My Tail To Texas
24 July, 2004
Author: Ben Laney
These city streets
have had me beat
the traffic is out of control
I don't need concrete
underneath my feet
I know it's time for me to roll
I'm takin' my tail to Texas
So long, So long, bye bye
I'm takin' my tail to Texas
where the wide open spaces
meet the big, blue sky
I'm takin' my tail to Texas
gonna hit the road...and fly
I'm takin' my tail to Texas
So long, So long, bye bye
This cold, dead town
can't hold me down
since my Baby has up and gone
You bet I cried
and died inside
but now I hear a highway song
I'm goin' where
there's country air
and cowgirls in honky-tonk bars
I might find a girl
who'll dance wth me and twirl
out beneath the moon and stars
I'm takin' my tail to Texas
So long, So long, bye bye
I'm takin' my tail to Texas
where the wide open spaces
meet the big, blue sky
I'm takin' my tail to Texas
gonna hit the road...and fly
I'm takin' my tail to Texas
So long, So long, bye bye
------- Author's Notes -------
Now I just may have to drag my tail all the way, but I'm takin' my tail to Texas. (That's my tail, and I'm stickin' to it.) See you in Amarillo.. or Austin! Haaa! Haaaa! Happy Tails to you!! ****Ben |
