Dawning Of July
25 July, 2004

I'm outside by the window and smoke
Nervous and alone talking to myself again paranoid
The room is spinning I sit down and laugh silently
And the days go by so fast thinking of nothing

Somebody told me it was you I would find here
Not a rumour the truth could be sold to the crowds
Of people I'm in a trance and dopey smiling
Please don't leave me like this hoping frailty calls

Bones and date often at the movies loud and cold
The kiss is turbulent and I'm awake higher in other places
Imagined it could be destined for sincerity
Some strange familararity digs deep and walks through

The Faces look hard down at the people and sin
Wondering why we can't win or you won't let me in?
Knock Knock ghost in the walls it's a conspiracy
Repromanded delivery and sent back through

Dance in the mud with a shovel to arrange
Bitten wings and opened mouths to fly away
Thinking about it not today It flew away
Like a little bird in July always does in cool slumber

Lay your head in this your final resting place
Crest of golden silver fountains reflect in the beauty
The story they believe when nothing is going on
Turn off the lights turn the radio down and away soon

And how they reflect from the light of the moon
Crimson entombed and the taste of blood from the dagger
On my lips warm running down my face It was you after all
At dawn so long goodbye to love from a vampire

At the end of the dawning of July
match up and to come
