The One Who Is There For Me
16 January, 2001
Author: Booze
We have been enemies
We have been friends
We have been boys
We have been men
Things change everyday
My how I have seen you grow
Once from a boy, now to a young man
The man i call my good friend
We had the bad
Shared the good
Cherished the memories
Of the time we had
We smile and laugh
We hug and cry
We grew to love one another
Not as lovers do; but yet as friends
I needed you; Sometimes you weren't there
When you needed me I've been there
Now when we needed each other the most
What did i find but a friendship that I am proud to share
You are my friend
My companion
My friend of a life time
The person to whom I can turn to
The one who is there for me
When everyone else in the world turns around
You open you arms
And let me be the what I need to be
------- Author's Notes -------
I wrote this poem for a friend that I thought I lost but yet when times were the worst he came back around. Thanks Brian it means so much to me. You will never know. |
