Moonlight Dance
26 July, 2004
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I stand in a place far distant from you
Yet I know inside we feel the same
We feel as intensely in parallel lives
Walking, pondering the wonderment of all
How can we share what is most close to our hearts
To bare all that is our soul and core
To touch someone who I will never know
Two hearts passing delicately slow
Perhaps for a moment our souls met and danced
Shimmering in the moonlight and stars
Knowing that somewhere you too, are
Wishing you could capture this starlight somehow
To be able to recreate something so enormous
So very beautiful to behold.
No artists brush or poets song could do justice
This moment is too deep and too strong
Dance with my soul one more last dance in the moonlight
I will sing songs to your heart as you paint the stars
For only one moment more may we linger
Then back to our empty canvas and silent guitar
