My Swing Park

vinebar

In my swing park
laughing children,
outside my swing park
men standing by ice-cream vans ploting how to kill
them

In my swing park
lots of different races,
outside my swing park
lots of angry faces

In my swing park
dont be judgemental,
outside my swing park
so many people resentful

In my swing park
there is still a glow in their eye,
outside my swing park
their still living their life of lies

In my swing park
they run around without a care in the world,
outside my swing park
people addicted to anti-depressants
going through their own personal hell

In my swing park
innocence all round,
outside my swing park
young Wendy has still not been
found.....

------- Author's Notes -------

I was walking past my local 'swing park' and noticed that this place was protecting them from the world,it may have only a seven foot fence all around it but it is the kids own privite world,

so please goverment think long and hard about where you spend you cash.whats important and whats not?

Ben my friend the caring Brit...

you have a huge heart...always caring for/about what matters most of all in life..leaving little for yourself.you deserve recognition..i won't be the first and certainly will not be the last to observe such a great quality in a loving soul such as yours..HUGS/LOVE

How Do We Protect, Such, Tender Hearts?

Ben F, Your poem is a mandate, to all of us, who love our children, we must warn them, of obstacles/dangers, that they face, our loving hearts, can only protect them for so long. Outside that fence, you mentioned, is a world of predators, children are their evil heart's desire. Sad to say, I don't count on the government, to build a fence, high enough, to protect such tender hearts. I believe, it is up to us, to save these warning signs. I see no other answer, I pray our love for them, will be enough, so sad, we have to warn, such, tender hearts, of all that awaits, them, outside, the swing park. Excellent, work, it hit me hard, like, you wanted it to! -MV

No Problem

Ben F, I know, your poem, will mean so, much, if, only we can find a way, to get get where it needs to be, in front of others, like, You, Terrie, me and the rest of the world. As an answer to that, I think, Dreamer, is working on an answer. -MV

trying

At least you're trying to get it across to people. Protect the ones that can't protect themselves. Iit's to bad that our kids have to know that the world is full of danger.Good thought.

Ben, this is a big step...

i know i already commented on this ..but you know me Ben ,i stick to you like crazy glue haha... Sweetie, your effort will SOMEDAY make a difference, i know of ONE MAN whom feed the homeless soup & sandwiches from the trunk of his car, this ONE MAN opened up a shelter for the homeless that is very well known today... this one man also formed a tent city for the homeless and the people named in honor of a friend of mine (his son )because of this one mans selflessness ,this ONE MAN has prevented our many homeless from becoming targets or statistics if this ONE MAN can make that difference, YOU BEN FRANKLIN can too....FAITH can move a mountain. as my friends Dad did... and continues to do so today...
