Night Terrors
29 July, 2004
Author: Andrew James Ball
Lying there on the floor,
I dare not dream some more,
For there came a noise of
An unearthly sound,
That felt like heavy
Breathing down my neck.
The fear growing inside me
Held me to that accursed floor,
I wish I could have done more.
Feeling braver I jumped into bed,
Turned off the lights,
And pulled the sheets over my head.
Lying there in my bed,
I felt as if I was dead,
I closed my eyes and fell asleep,
I never heard another peep.
