For The First Ten Years
30 July, 2004
Author: Ben Franklin
For the first ten years I never
slept,
Id lock myself in and wish I was
dead
Sleep was the last thing on my mind,
and the miracle chocolate bar didnt make me feel
fine
Every T.V. programes reminded me of
you,
even the 'airline' programe reminded me of when we first
flew
Music too,
every violin or guitar chord
reminds me that Im not with
you
After the first ten years i managed to
sleep,
but there you were in my dreams holding my hand as we
strolled down the beach,
but subconsciously I knew you were out of
reach
but my Love I have found another,
I know you would of wanted me to move on
and not to
suffer

Meridian (64.12.116.200) -- Friday, July 30 2004, 05:57 pm Just to add a little humor to our day, when I was an 11th grader, my English teacher had me thinking.... When you say the word sleep.... Okay, suppose you were in English class, and you went to sleep, for 10 years, woke up on the 10th year, and you're 27 in the same clothes you were in while sleeping in English class.... Teeth yellow, hair looks like Don King's, you smell worse than a musk rat.....man o man, this poem is so good..... For The First Ten Years! Standing ovation! Good job Franklin! Smiles, Meri |
