Blue-haired Granny In A Green Granada

My speedometer
was readin' eighty-eight
when she blew by me
on the interstate
I did a double-take
and then looked harder
It was a blue-haired Granny
in a green Granada

Blue-haired Granny
in a green Granada
Blowin' everybody
right out of the water
Never seen a woman
run her motor hotter
than that Blue-haired Granny
in a green Granada

I caught a quick glance
as she was flyin' past
And got a cold chill
when she let out a laugh
Then she shot me a look
that could boil water
That blue-haired Granny
in a green Granada

Well, she rounded a curve
flat-out goin' for broke
leavin' me behind her
chokin' on her smoke
I put my foot down
but I never caught her
That blue-haired Granny
in a green Granada

Blue-haired Granny
in a green Granada
Blowin' everybody
right out of the water
Never seen a woman
run her motor hotter
than that Blue-haired Granny
in a green Granada

------- Author's Notes -------

This is based on an incident that happened to me on Highway 101, up in Northern California, when I was on a road trip. I tell you for a fact, until I saw it with my own eyes, I had no idea that blue hair could go that fast! This was one speedy little Granny!! Maybe she was Dale Earnhart Jr's' Grandma. Haa! Haaa! Hope you were wearin' your seat-belt when you read it!! Drive Careful, Kids!-Ben

Meridian, your friends in the Highway Patrol...

Meridian, please don't tell your friends in the Highway Patrol, if you have any in their office, about this incident. It will be our little secret, okay? As for that Blue-Haired Granny, I don't know if she was wearing a wig but if she was, I hope she uses super-glue to keep it on. One thing for sure is the girl-friend was in a HURRY to get where she was going! Haa! Haaaa! Thank you so much for your kind comment, I am happy you enjoyed the ride and I'm glad to know you got a laugh out of this true story. Remember to always use your seatbelt! All The Best & Smiles 2 U, Ben

Terrie*, I just hope her brakes are...

Terrie*, I just hope her brakes are are working and she doesn't wind up in Alaska out on an island of ice looking into the nostrils of a polar bear that's in a bad mood! Haa! Haaa! There are some ladies whom you shouldn't say, "You go, girl to!" Anyway, I thank you very much for your comment. I am glad you enjoyed it and found some humour in it. oodles & oodles, Ben
