Crazy Brother Ed
30 July, 2004
Author: Ben Laney
I'm gonna go down
around Arkansas
and try to find
my crazy brother Ed
Gonna check around
down in Arkansas
and try to find
that crazy brother of mine
Somebody said
he might be caught by the law
Somebody else said
Your crazy brother might be dead
Well, the last time
I laid eyes on Ed
He was standing
by the winding road
Last time I saw
that crazy brother of mine
we shook hands
where the big trucks roll
He said, The law
won't ever catch me
'cause I'm runnin'
just as quick as I can go
So I'm goin' down
around Arkansas
to try to find
my crazy brother Ed
Gonna check around
down in Arkansas
gotta try to find
that crazy brother of mine
Somebody said
he might be caught by the law
Somebody else said
Your crazy brother might be dead
Yeah, you never know about Ed
Hey, I guess he's a lot like me
That boy ain't got a brain in his head
------- Author's Notes -------
I honestly don't remember what kind of trouble it was that my crazy brother Ed got himself into at that time, but I remember well that he was in a BIG hurry to leave the state. He wasn't in the mood to listen to me when I told him to just turn himself in, so I took him out to Highway 99, near Fresno California, and dropped him off where he had the best chance to catch a ride with a trucker. It all worked out okay in the end. Ed is presently living out in the Texas Panhandle with his wife, Jean, and they're growing peaches, pears, or some kind of fruit trees, and laughing about their "outlaw days". Funny, I didn't think it was so humorous then! Peas & Hominy, Ben |

Ben Laney (65.148.233.210) -- Friday, July 30 2004, 07:39 pm Terrie*,Thank you sooo much for your comment, it is mucho appreci-autoed!! (there's my bad spanish) Yeppers, Ed did like flyin' motorcycles off bridges and turning automobiles into smoldering piles of worthless junk. But as for him being crazier than me, his big brother and role model, there's not much chance of that happening. I'm waaaaay too far ahead of him in the insanity department! Haa! Haaa! I will give him your best. Thanks again! Kind Regards, Ben |
Ben Laney (65.148.233.210) -- Friday, July 30 2004, 07:54 pm Meridian, it really is quite remarkable that you used the phrase "lovely cartoon" in your comment. I used to tell my crazy brother Ed all the time that he should be in a CARTOON! Also, if you heard music as you read it I could not be more pleased, because it is a song. As for my next CD, I am hoping it it finished before the end of this year. One more thing. Floetic, I like that word floetic! Thank you soooo much for your positive feedback, I truly appreciate it! Love & Whirled Peas & Smiles 2, Ben |

Ben Laney (68.127.173.253) -- Friday, September 17 2004, 04:39 pm Lee, you tell me, where are we gonna get the trees to make enough wood to shake sticks at all these Laneys! Do you think it could take about three rain forests to get that much lumber? Yep, Crazy Brother Ed is not the only crazy Laney, is he? We will keep that our secret, though, okay? Thank you soooo much for your comment, it is very welcome and a very good suprise to read it! Keep On Rockin' It Now! Love, Crazy Brother Ben |
