Gypsy Skirt
31 July, 2004
Author: Ben Laney
The sun has gone to bed
and just look overhead
at that big moon shining bright
Now Baby here we are
beneath the blazing stars
I must say you're a welcome sight
Come on and dance with me girl
in your Gypsy skirt
I want you to dance with me girl
in your Gypsy skirt
Put a spin on my world
hurl me above the dirt
Come on and dance with me girl
in your Gypsy skirt
My heart is open wide
I need you by my side
Are you ready to take a chance?
You've touched my very soul
I'm yours to have and hold
Let's make sweet music and romance
Woman are you feeling
the burning beauty of this night?
Like me, are you reeling
reeling way down deep inside?
Come on and dance with me girl
in your Gypsy skirt
I want you to dance with me girl
in your Gypsy skirt
Put a spin on my world
hurl me above the dirt
Come on and dance with me girl
in your Gypsy skirt
------- Author's Notes -------
I have always liked those long, flowing skirts that can spin out like a parachute. There is something poetic and romantic about them. I wouldn't wear one myself, of course. Not unless I lose all my polka-dotted boxers and couldn't find anything else! Haa! Haaa! Love & Whirled Peas, Ben |
