The Dance

I can see you up in heaven, Singing your song
Jamming with your friends, all day long.
Being with the ones that you've longed to see
Could you take some time and dance with me.

You see my love, You promised me just one more dance
But you went away and we never had the chance.
I remember the nights that you held me so tight
Dancing in your arms always felt so right.

The way you always looked at me, Your eyes filled with love
The kind of love I prayed for, To the stars in the sky above.
I can't believe that you left me, that you've really gone away
Sometimes I don't know how I get through, the seconds of the day.

The day that you went home, Your will was not to live
I held you tightly in my arms and made this promise to give.
To dance with you every night, when I close my eyes to dream
Underneath the starlight and across the brightest moonbeam.

Whisper our song in my ear when I close my eyes to sleep
And I'll hold you tight every night with my promise I will keep.
We will share ' The Dance ' in my dreams, forevermore
Gliding so every softly, across the ocean shore.

I love this

The Dance! I love your wording! They're so heart touching, and nice. I am truly inspired by your poem, for the image in your words, is so gorgeous. Yet, it sounds painful, because a loved one is lost, but every line struck me; this is truly beautiful StarlightDreamer! Smiles, -Meri
