A year ago, I received, a letter, from a friend, he had lost his way
Said, he, was headed straight, for hell, just wanted me to know
I thank you, for all you have done, over, all the years
But, I’m afraid, the day has come, I know, no other way

A year ago, his little girl, fell down the stairs
The doctors said, the rest of her life, would be, in a wheel chair
Once again, I dropped to my knees and asked, you Lord
Can you help my friend? he no longer cares

I sent, a pink, teddy bear, to her hospital room
Then, the time came, for my friend and his wife,
To take this little, girl home, she was only, four years old
In bed at home, she looked up at her daddy, said, I want to play,
With my Pink, Teddy Bear.

Her daddy cried, picked her up, the phone rang, as he laid her down
The Pink, Teddy Bear, was across the room, Then, as he turned around
His little girl, had stood up, walked, and picked up, her pink, teddy bear
So, many times, Lord, you have been there…, for me

I have always, kept my promise, to you Lord, every day….,
Never, tell them, where help comes from, that is not my job
My job is to believe in you, tell you, when I or, friends, need your help
Preachers, tell them where you are, but, they all,
Must find you, in their own way

So, my child, don’t preach my name, just use, the heart, I gave to you
So, many times, I have fallen, to my knees, can it be,
I am the only one, who believes, oh, I don’t think so, but, sometimes,
When your friends, need your love, when they are so, scared

Just send them this poem and a Pink, Teddy Bear
