The Hostage
9 August, 2004
Author: SweetVenom
Taken prisoners by terrible people,
With nothing to ask but for life,
I was begging at my hands of my captors,
To set me free from and not be 'raptors'.
With a lovely wife crying at home,
Csrrying kid, feeding it with pone,
Her saddened eyes makes my throat parch,
I couldn't help but scratching my thatch.
My parents pleading for my life,
Praying unknown Gods to end,
This bitter strife, I had nothing to do,
But wait for my destiny.
New demands were made,
And thoughts of 'escape',
Seemed to fade, silly were their needs,
Is my life such a laugh?
The kicks and punches were tormenting,
The mental agony of death nearing,
Was increasing the restlessness,
With often talks of the brutality,
Of ending the pain with lots of unbearable pain.
Pictures were shown of the torturers behind us,
With arms ready to cut down our backs,
Seeking more harmony with our struggles,
All this makes deep puddles in our brain.
"Oh My Lord! Let me rest in peace!"

Meridian (205.188.116.200) -- Thursday, August 12 2004, 07:32 pm Yeah, I've seen some videotapes on the news, about how they treat civilians, in Iraq. It's terrible. Beheading them, and blindfolding them, and make a mockery out of them. They don't deserve brutality. It blows my mind. Good poem about what's happening today in the 21st century. Smiles, Meri |
