Sad Saturday Night Revisited
14 August, 2004
Author: Ben Laney
I got some Annie's
Home grown macaroni
And I'm sippin' on a cold cup
Of grind your own coffe
Far away from the city lights
A dog is barking
The deep night is falling
And here in my darkness
I don't hear you calling
It's gonna be a sad Saturday night
A sad Saturday night
I sent some e-mail
To friends and family
And I kicked myself
For feeling so lonely
Far away from the city lights
Now time is passing
Like a snail that's crawling
And I can't help thinking
Why is it you're stalling
It's gonna be a sad Saturday night
A sad Saturday night
I had a feeling
You wouldn't be showing
Lately you've been reeling
Like a leaf that's blowing
Round and round on a hurricane flight
Well, I hope that later
You feel a little better
Then maybe later
We can pull it together
Far away from the city lights
It's gonna be a sad Saturday night
A sad Saturday night
------- Author's Notes -------
The middle verse was finished after I had already posted the first version of this. I have been known to get into too much of a rush to get something done! Haa! Haaaa! I hope you like the completed version. Thanks, Ben |
