Promise Me
17 August, 2004
Author: Teresa Ortberg
Promise me when we grow old,
you will still want to hold my hand.
Promise me when all others have gone
you'll still be my oldest friend
Promise me in the still dark night
you'll hold me while I sleep
Promise me when I tell you my fears,
these secrets you will keep
Promise me when your vision fades,
you'll still gaze into my eyes
Promise me when lines and grays appear
you'll tell me little lies.
Promise me when I get lost,
yu'll shine to show the way
Promise me when life's tide rolls in
you'll love me as much as today.
