'can you spare some change please?',
no answer
'spare some change please?',
no answer
'excuse me mate you aint got any spare change av ya?',
no answer

'I wouldnt mind
but they dont even answer any more,
look how many pennies Iv'e raised in 3hours,
4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's as if Im not there,
as long as I get acknowledged
I dont care if they stare,

There is a funny rumour going round,
wanna hear it???
get ready for this.......
Homeless people are millionaires!!!!!!!!!!

If we are I havent had my share!!!

Radio and tabloids
are telling people not to give to us!!
If I was a millionaire I wouldnt be sitting on
a damp floor
freezing my arse off
trying to raise a score!

I know it was my fault I got into this situation,
but are you truly gonna belive this fabrication?

maybe we can meet at my house and discuss this matter?
Its down that alley way
under all that clutter.

------- Author's Notes -------

peoples attitudes to homeless people in london is really bad,its hasnt been good for a long time but its got worse.

it is the minority con artists that give the homeless this horrible tag,
I know some of the money might be going to frauds,
but how will you ever know?
yet our goverment(england)do nothing for these people,
its the kind hearted people who may or may not of been through there struggle opening up hostals and giving them a place to warm there selfs up for the night ahead.

things need to change.

Ben, i totally understand what you mean..

here in the city the homeless have thinned down on the streets, since more shelters and tent cities formed, very few still hit busy intersections w/their "WILL WORK FOR FOOD" sign(they work for their possee they take turns bringing in the grub -make you wanna cry when you can see and study what they do kind of like the ant colony..when one gives it sometimes draws a chain reaction)
you still see very few pushing carts collecting pop bottles and all recyclables .i met a veteran named Joe and he was a wonderful man..i have 2 poems of him out "The friend i found in Joe" and "God Bless you for Eternity" he made a big impact on me..so i truelly understand your words on this..HUGS/LOVE
