A Tribute To Her

A rose in the dark, ready to be greeted,
Her petals folded, waiting for that touch,
Over and over, hands are neared,
Her thorns, dripping with old blood.

Pain is her water, and heart-ach her air,
Joy doesn’t exist, and comfort isn’t there,
Silent screams that are never heard,
Tormented pleas that are often ignored,
Death, the only escape, is to far to reach,
Hell, that’s her place, no sign of release.

An angel was said, to come to her one night,
To fight off her darkness, to answer her cries.
A sweet kiss to keep her going, a shadow in sight,
Cold hands reaching out, the warm hug, kept tight.

Salvation is near, her petals unfold,
Scared and torn, but still beautiful and bold,
A feeling has come, one of no recognition,
A beautiful one, with a sweet definition.

Her present’s her present,
and her past is her past,
Her future’s with the shadow,
and their love will last.

Accusation and fights, are sure to arouse,
Confusion and spite, might tare them apart,
But their love is strong, straight from the heart,
True smiles show, till death do they part.
