How Far Is Heaven
31 August, 2004
Author: Terrie*
give her a break
she just lost her only son
she is lost and confused
can't you see
her heart just got severely abused
a disease she carried
way before she got married
her parents carried it too
really nothing no body could do
she tried her best
to prevent a positive test
the Doctor came out
gave her the news with out a doubt
a baby has come to be
he said to her, God bless you and he
she struggled the whole term
she always had many a concern
to fast forward her life
the father too was concerned for his wife
he saw her siblings offsprings die in threes
last spring she lost her 4 year old niece
nothing will take the pain away
nothing will ever tell her it's okay
she knows theres no guarantee
in Gods hands she let it be
a child was finally born
a world that she knew would soon be torn
the love God had placed in her care
she loved him more than she was aware
years went by we all watched him grow
his big bright eyes always had a glow
he often asked
"HOW FAR IS HEAVEN"
with a great big hug
we'd tell him
Heaven is right here in your heart
so our loved ones are never far apart
he reached to be 11
now little Nathanial lives in heaven
