Looking And Seeing
2 September, 2004
Author: Leah06
I wish I could shed everything
All the harsh things I have been called
All the insecurity I have for myself
And finally feel clean.
To walk around with my head up
And feel like everyone notices me
For just one day
I wish to fit in.
Yet I still feel invincible
Like I belong as nothingness
I feel unnoticed
And artificial.
People looking at me
But not seeing me
Is like trying so hard to be heard
But realizing no one can hear you.
I wish to touch anothers life
And be able to share everything with them
To have them see the real me
And to feel like I am someone.
It takes little effort to look
But so much to actually see
Eyes that look are common
Eyes that see are rare.
I am still walking with my head down
Waiting for someone
To stop trying so hard to look
When it is so much better to see.
