Distance
8 September, 2004
Author: Barbara Goodhew
To have a friend that's far away.
Is the right way.
No unexpected pop ins.
No constant phone rings.
They are always nice.
Even if you tell them you have lice.
No amount of miles or body of waters,
Distant a friend.

Meridian (152.163.253.8) -- Wednesday, September 8 2004, 06:16 pm Comic queen! Even if we have lice! Oh my goodness! You know believe it or not, looking from your perspective, it is good to have a little peace, even though you miss your dear friend. But sometimes, distance is the best way to go! Once you found out that they're moving, it's like, "oh, I could'nt have been happier"------ but also, I could'nt have been sadder either. But, it all works out in the end, where you won't have to worry about your phone bill running sky high, due to the non-stop calls, over nothing! Sometimes friends just wanna call, for the heck of it, and that's when you're trying to get something done, or trying to take a nap, but can't....hahhaha Once again, you've proven to be the comic queen and life's lessons queen! Dynamic poem on "Friendship" Smiles, Meri |

Martin Vann (63.185.65.63) -- Wednesday, September 8 2004, 11:20 pm Barb, A friend is a friend, no matter where they are. Of course, sometimes, its better if, they are far away, until, you need a friend, they are not close enough. Yet, I understand what you say in this poem so, delicately, when, with a surpise, there is a knock at your door, which you open up and there is an old friend, just got into town, and all you say is, Hey, I have lice in my hair, come on in, then they do, Geez, they come on in. Funny and so true! MV |
barb (206.191.91.131) -- Thursday, September 9 2004, 03:12 am what I was trying to say was that it doesn't matter to a friend what's wrong they are there for you. |
Capricorn (82.36.129.85) -- Thursday, September 9 2004, 09:46 am This is a cute poem Barb -- I love your way of thinking. Friends are always there for you, no matter how many miles distance you and no matter what is wrong (even if it is lice ~giggle~) A great read. |
