He Beat The Bastard
10 September, 2004

Such a evil disease,
when my dad got it I was only seven,
mother trying to explain that 'daddy might end up
in heaven',

of couse I didnt understand
but I often wondered why my dad was a bald headed man,

being sent down to my cousins house by the sea,
I often thought my parents were angry with me,

I remember one time he came home from chemotherapy
and burst into tears,
I was so confused
I had never seen a adult cry before,
I didnt know what to do,
so I gave him a hug
and he said 'Ben I love you',

He beat the BASTARD in the end,
and I got to keep my best friend.

------- Author's Notes -------

Becky my heart goes out to you,
I truly hope you dad gets through this.

In a way I was lucky because I was so young I didnt understand what was going on,
but to be at the age I am now I think it would be a different story.

I will pray for you and your dad.

take care and stay strong.
lots of love
Ben
