I'm Not That Girl
22 September, 2004
Author: Emilee
He looks into my eyes,
my heart skips a beat.
It makes me wonder what lies
his smile is telling me.
He could hold me in his arms,
tell me that he loves me.
We could be more than we are,
oh, how happy that would make me!
He could be the one,
to which I give my heart.
my searching would be done,
I would love to play that part.
How I wish he was
that part of my world.
He could be that boy,
But I’m not that girl.
Right now we’re just friends,
and that’s ok with me.
I don’t want our friendship to end,
I just know there’s more we could be,
He’s holding out for something beautiful,
something out of this world.
He could be that boy, I know.
But, I’m not that girl.
Maybe he feels the same,
he just doesn’t let me know.
I don’t want to play that game,
he should let his feelings show.
I want to tell him how I feel,
tell him he’s my world.
Wishing he could be that boy…
Knowing that I’m not that girl.
