I Must Remember...

Author: Terrie*
I meet an angel and his son
at the cemetary today
we went to a nearby coffee shop
shared a cup of coffee
we talked and expressed things
we never shared with anyone else before
we laughed and we cried
of loved ones whom have died
his loss was greater
cause he lost part of his own flesh
two of his sons
I learned something about myself today
as he and I sat and opened our hearts
he knew exactly how I felt
and yet he never judged me for what I said
they looked at me
with admiration in their eyes
I have done nothing special
except live through somebody elses life
as they have
through the shadows of the dismayed
and the battered and confused
the sick and the dying
a hungry man at our footsteps
or at the mall
a bit of change to spare
or meal to share
they are a part of us
in this life while we breath Gods air
we must remember that they are there
if I can not share
the love in my heart
then my heart becomes a total waste
if I turn the other way
why open the door to my soul
if i cannot open the windows of my heart
I want God
to leave his windows and door
directly opened to me.........
