Summer-fall-you And I
11 October, 2004
Author: Pondering Red
Summer ran by-
did a bunch of hurdles-
left some pictures.
Now,
in this city
a red tree
bursts out-
here and there.
The old park trees
are holding onto
their green summer leaves.
The old trees are waiting.
The younger reddish ones-
ablaze in their glory,
in their transient beauty,
shine and glow
in the fall sunlight.
And we have seen a summer season together-
walked through the tropical and rainy weather,
passed through our own storms-
silent and obvious.
Our million thoughts
have whirled us into
this delightful day.
A lightness and comfort
has sustained me.
We have created a safe place-
a fun space-
with colour and light,
with shining plants
and funky furniture and things.
And many projects realized and not yet.
Now the leaves are blowing.
Coolness creeps into this city.
-eternal fall-
I am satisfied.
