Good-bye Lulu
16 May, 2003
Author: Capricorn
I called to see you late last night
and felt a pain deep in my heart;
to find your life had lost its light,
your spirit gone. My eyes now smart
with salty tears that cloud my sight.
Now buried in a shallow grave
you join the others gone before.
My spirit's sad, my mask is brave;
inside my heart is feeling raw,
as you are hidden in deaths' cave.
You lie in peace by leafy trees
and there I place a garden stone;
as spring time's gently drifting breeze,
will cover you with leaves it's blown.
Memories give my heart a squeeze,
I miss you now your spirit's flown.

Dino (67.24.230.58) -- Tuesday, May 20 2003, 11:12 pm Very nice poem about your pet Lulu Cap. Because of this poem, they will live on forever in our minds. It's good to write these poems so they aren't forgotten. It's special to you and you alone. We can only read and sympatize with your lost. With that said, you have inspired me to write one on my pet, while he is still alive. Thanks again for a very nice poem. I like the rock thing, I did that with Casper, my samoyed. I found a big rock and engraved it with a drill, the letters looking like Japanese writings, all up and down, with my own design and painted each letter. Then stood it up. I see it everyday. Did that give you any ideas? |
