My Father's Face
24 October, 2004
Author: KitKatrina
I woke up to someone on my bed,
Just sitting there, watching me,
What was he doing there,
It was too dark to even see,
A felt a breeze upon my face,
You were breathing on my cheek,
I guess that's all you could do,
Because you didn't even speak,
I felt that you were in the room,
That's why I was awake,
It's like I knew you were coming,
But no sound you did make,
The room was completely silent,
I couldn't even hear your heart beat,
Yet I sit there awake watching you,
While I am asleep,
Was it all a dream, made up,
Or was my father there with me,
I know that I saw your face,
But it was too dark to see,
Yet your face was transparent,
As see-through as a glass,
In the pitch black I saw you,
But it all happened too fast,
So to this day I wonder,
If I had really been asleep,
Because I didn't hear anything,
Not even a heart beat...
