Getting Through

Trapped in my cage,I can't pursue
my dreams when life goes wrong.
Strapped in this mind,I can't construe
that hell would last so long.
Slapped in my face,my mind askew.
I cry my sombre song.
Wrapped in the warmth to help me renew
my strength and hope prolong.
Clapped by applause at getting through
to sing my victory song
