I Wanted A Puppy
28 October, 2004
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I wanted a puppy
A puppy for me
So I went to the pet store
To see what was to see
"Not just any puppy," I said
"I want one especially for me"
There was one skinny one
One fat one, one shy
But didn't see one puppy
Not one I wanted to buy
From cage to cage
I searched high and low
But not one puppy
No, not in this row
To the last cage I went
And what did I see
It Was!! It Was!!
The puppy for me
He wasn't too skinny
He wasn't too fat
He just looked at me
From his cage where he sat
"It's Him!! It's Him"
I cried out with joy
"He's the perfect puppy
For this little boy"
"Can I? Oh, Can I?
Take him home, Please Please?
I'm sure he's the one!"
Mom nodded yes and I smiled happily
I paid the man all the money
That I had to spend
And carried home my new puppy
My new best friend..
