I Just Hatched
26 January, 2003
Author: Capricorn
I've just slithered out of my egg-shell,
I'm feeling weak and not so well.
Who are you? Why do you stare?
Go away! - you're starting to scare.
Hssssss! can you hear this noise?
Hey listen it is my angry voice.
You won't come near - you wouldn't dare!
I can rattle my tail at you to scare.
I'm afraid of you so please be kind
or I'll stretch my body as I unwind
and if you reach out, I will strike!
I might even use my teeth to bite.
Oooooh! - that is such a warm hand,
perhaps you are kind and will understand.
I'll flick my tongue your scent to obtain,
then I'll recognise that smell again
Where am I now? - I'll look around.
What's in this dish that I have found?
I'm in a warm box with somewhere to hide,
a drink of water, everything supplied.
Mmmmmm! - now I'll curl up for a rest
My first day here has been quite a test!
With beady eyes I'll watch if I like,
but if you lift up that lid - I might strike!

Capricorn (62.30.217.106) -- Wednesday, March 5 2003, 12:14 am This all started with my sons pets, as he got bored with them I took them on and aquired more...just leopard gecko lizards and cornsnakes....quite docile creatures really. None poisonous or too large to cope with.As my kids have left home, my reptiles are my babies now!! Don't worry, they're all shut in and snakes locked up! As for my other `Baby' when I will feel inspired to write one like that again I do not know.... perhaps never!! |
