Night Sky
3 November, 2004
Author: Mike
The moon shines through my window at night,
Shedding it's bright eternal light.
But even this pale orb in the sky
Cannot stop the feelings I hold inside.
The stars twinkle merrily at me,
Flashing and shining for all to see.
But all I notice is the blackness of the night
Enveloping me and filling me with fright.
The fear grips me, holding me tight,
Not letting go, hiding the moonlight.
I try to fight, struggle to be free
But there is no one who cares to hear my plea.

Meridian (172.166.249.176) -- Wednesday, November 3 2004, 08:15 pm Man, you've painted this picture well! You know, I can see you looking through your window at the moon, for comfort, to escape the darkness that surrounds you. I can see you reaching your arms out, wanting to be close to the moon, so it can suffice as a night light to protect you, and so it will erase the symptoms of fright. Mike, you're an artist! You really, really drew this picture with skill, bringing out the imagery in this poem! Hooray for Mike! Good one! Smiley face, Meri |
