Goodnight
3 November, 2004
Author: Mike
I lay down on this bed of black,
Hoping to sleep and never awake,
Hoping to be taken beyond my dreams,
My soul is here for you to take.
But yet you always stay away
And ignore my heartfelt plea.
It seems the more I cry and beg
The faster you seem to flee.
So I wish that I could finally go
To a place where I can rest in peace.
Safe in the reassuring knowledge
That this pain I feel will never increase.
