Expressions
4 November, 2004
Author: Mike
He stands in a room of white,
White walls and a white floor.
White windows and white curtains,
Even a white door.
Asked to express himself
Any way he can,
He picks up a paint brush
And draws a man.
The man is standing,
Just looking around.
He was once lost
But has onw been found.
He knows who he is
And what he has become -
Something different from what he was.
Someone who finally belongs.
He then draws a boy
In a room all alone,
No one to talk to
No friends of his own.
This young boy,
Thoughts running through his head,
Wishes he had someone to confide in,
No nightmares while asleep in bed.
Nightmares that come
Everytime he closes his eyes.
Nightmares that haunt him,
Bringing with them all the lies.
Asked to express myself
On these walls of white,
The drawings just gush out
The paint brush in flight.
So here I am
Spread upon these walls,
My heart and soul bared
Just waiting for me to fall.

Holly (82.34.160.81) -- Wednesday, April 6 2005, 10:37 pm This one is very good, and a little different from the others I've read so far. (Not in the sense that it's good.) I like the idea you used, and the twist at the end. The changing from 3rd person to 1st is very effective. |
