- BIOGRAPHY -

Jan-Jaap Reinders (1972)
is a poet, theatre teacher and psychologist living in the Dutch university city of Groningen and working at the university since the year 2000. He was born in Rotterdam and started writing poetry at the age of 15. His repertoire of classical en modern poetry arised from his astonishment about people and reality. During many nights he wanders the country around the city writing his poetry and visiting small villages and hamlets along the way.

Before moving to Groningen he lived in the province of Friesland where he founded the poet society Nocturnus. In 1994 and 1995 he organized the Poetry Night Leeuwarden and in 1996 he temporary left The Netherlands to teach at the Dartington College of Arts, Devon, England. Jan-Jaap Reinders was awarded Best Reciter/Performer in 2004.
