i smile
because its
so much easier
than explaining
what's wrong sometimes

i smile
even though i suck
at living my own life

i smile
even though i hear
that people think
I'm troubled bc
i tend to drink
too much at times

i smile
even though i have scars
all over my arms and legs
and i can't handle
any emotion

i smile
even though
i am the most
replaceable person ever

i smile
even though i have
a constant nightmare
of loosing my Mom

i smile
even though
everything that i love
seems to fade far away
from me

i smile
even though
i can't forget
some of the bad things
from the past

i smile
even though
i would rather be dead
than alive tonight

meagan you convey your feels very weel here..I can really relate to your poem I have the same fellings at times...like today all I seem to write about is fear, despration...these things are hard sometimes...but it helps to write them down...keep writing...thanks for sharing...joyce

Writing does help, specially when you are feeling so low and someone makes a pretty comment on your writing. Keep it up, wounds heal with time, mostly. Just know that there are many people around the world right now who are going through a similar situation. It's good to know that you are not alone
