By Myself

I woke up this morning
And I ran downstairs
I thought I heard your voice again
But it was just the wind
It called to me while I was sleeping
It said AAAAAMMMMMMYYYYY.....
I thought it was you mummy.
I thought you came back
Mummy it's not nice being here alone
Daddy's here I know that
But mummy all my friends have a mummy and a daddy
Mummy why am i different?
Mummy why am I alone?
Mummy why did you leave me?
Why did you leave daddy?
I hear him sometimes come into my room
I always pretend to be asleep.
He sits on my bed and strokes my hair
Then he whispers in my ear
AMY BABY I LOVE YOU
I open my eyes just a bit
And see the tears in his eyes
I thought I was the only one who cried for you
But I guess grown ups cry too.
I fell over yesterday
And my knee started to bleed.
Daddy put a plaster on
But it was a boring one.
Mummy do you remember when I fell off my bike?
I cut my arm and leg.
I cried so much that your shirt got wet.
You picked my up and put me on the chair
You let me choose the plaster I wanted.
I picked a pink one.
I told daddy and he got cross.
He said AMY I DONT HAVE TIME TO PLAY GAMES.
You didnt shout at me mummy. Not like daddy sometimes does
I miss you so much mummy
But you left me here alone.
