The Invisable War

I know it's there.
I can see the flick...Flick...FLICKER,
and hear the sound of rumbling of hungry bombs
devouring landscapes coming from my television.
The precision
of the camera angles entangling
with the backdrop of people getting on with their lives.

A Blair in his hand is worth what to Bush?

The ash and dust settle over reality.
"Our top story tonight - David Beckham"

Two wars simultaneously being fought.
One a battle for power,
The other,

for truth.

------- Author's Notes -------

I wrote this in a workshop in July this year. I think that too many people listen to the media and believe what they are told without questioning it.

I'm not just talking about lying politicians. I'm talking about the Brittany "all little girls must grow up to look like this" Spears, and so many other "the TV and newspapers said it so they MUST be right" type stories too.
