Beauty Lost
14 November, 2004
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Shining, the moon fades from sight beneath a cloud
Shadowing the truths of reality
Masking light that should be seen
Is it's beauty lost because it is out of view
A single wave melds into the rise and fall of the ocean
Hidden, the power that pulls the tides
Lost but not forgotten as it rolls unto the sand
Is it's beauty lost because it is out of view
Singing ceases from a branch where a bird flies off into the sun
Blinded by light masking perceptions in flight
Missing from the truths of reality unseen
Is it's beauty lost because it is out of view
Fairness of face lost beneath the wrinkles of time
Ageless mind of memories now unheard
Fading from sight, the light of what once was
Is it's beauty lost because it is out of view
------- Author's Notes -------
Perhaps the perceptions of things lost are not really lost at all, but just unseen by those that cannot see. |

Spirit Wind (210.211.187.201) -- Tuesday, November 1 2005, 06:30 pm Insightful. Truly insightful. How we limit beauty only to our awareness of reality any given moment; to our senses. Beautiful line, this : "Fairness of face lost beneath the wrinkles of time". Profound and beautifully expressed. |
