This Tree
17 November, 2004
Author: Toni D
this tree we've grown into,
branched out and full
has held together and stood firm
in its own roots
surrounded by the soil of love
and a mother's earth
a mother's love and
a grandmother's heartbeat
stops
and these leaves we've been
hanging onto her
hanging around her skin
let go and
blow
with the wind
and that tree we were
will never be complete
without her heartbeat
without her
and we'll stem out
and branch until we bloom
and that tree we we're
will flower pretty soon
------- Author's Notes -------
Our family lost our Mama, she was our tree our Rose and we died with her in some places But her roots and love will not fail us and we will not fail her... |
