Jami

She's making her way through
the maze they made
turning and remembering
and running away
scraps of memories lay
somewhere to the south
the love of a girl
you have to live without
She wonders if time really
means something
if it's taken away,
what is blood and love
if it's just left to decay?
Sleep with the silence of a sister
and dream to kiss the truth away
Diamonds and roses and fading
hug and hold the girl of yesterday
Nothing to love
but the footprints
that still walk around
in my heart
How they've left me
with a broken wing
laying helpless in the dark
I can't find her
no pieces, no tangible hope
She's not here
she's not here
and my love for her just floats
This maze, these walls
that hide her from me
are all the walls
that kept her from me
------- Author's Notes -------
My little sister got taken from my mother...part of the poem (the first) is how I see her, going through a maze and walking places her feet shouldnt have walked without me and my love, and my family's love...she is a lost girl now without what she had...sisters and a mother that loved her and will die loving her.... jami is her name... |
